After installation (or just using the live image) of 18.04 (and .1) and turning on WiFi, I get dramatic screen flickering every few seconds, especially when pulling data across WiFi. This includes bursts of coloured static for many seconds, artefacts, and the screen going black until a key is pressed. WebThe only way to mitigate the flickering is to connect an HDMI display. When two displays are being simultaneously outputted to, the flickering ceases immediately. However, both displays need to be on, you cannot just have an HDMI display connected and close the lid. The flickering will start on the HDMI display.

If you're able to boot into windows, type Device Manager onto search box, expand Display Adapters, right click Video driver, select Uninstall (don't check the box that says delete driver) and then restart system. This should refresh the video driver, hopefully there's no more flickering.
